10 Habits of Highly Organised People
It's a dream of many to be so effortlessly organised that they never miss deadlines, have everything completed ahead of time and are live in a bubble of peace and tranquility. However, this remains a dream because they're not sure how to achieve this. As organised business owners ourselves, we've seen many collegues struggle with the day to day requirements running a business throws at them. We decided to do something about this by giving them the one tool they need: The Kiwi Planner organisational diary planner. You can order yours too, and while you're waiting for it to arrive, implement these ten habits of highly organised people to give yourself a head start:
- Deal with mail daily - whether it's email or physical letters, be sure to read and then follow up on any mail you recieve each day. This prevents things from spiraling into a larger problem the next day to deal with. It also allows you to know what's happening and organise responses effectlvely.
- Create a follow a to-do list - highly organised people know what they have to do and when they need to do it by keeping a list of daily tasks. You can too!
- Prioritise what's important - organise your to-do list into tasks from most important to least important. This can mean numbering your list, or using a system of highlighting tasks according to importance levels.
- Schedule me time - life is busy, so it's easy to leave no time for looking after yourself. Each day, book in some time for you to do something for yourself which is not related to your business or running your household. This could include reading, going for a walk or sitting and finishing a cup of tea!
- Plan your day in advance - it's very handy to know what is coming up in advance. Spend time at the end of the day sorting yourself out for tomorrow.
- Keep your workspace clear of clutter - putting things away once you have used them is a great organisational tip to keep your desk clear of clutter.
- Keep things simple - you don't need to complicate things by reinventing the wheel. Use what's been done before and has worked, rather than trying to figure another way to do it.
- Know when to ask for help - if you're in over your head, getting help is one of the smartest moves you can make.
- Stick with routines - routines are great to follow because they help you create a successful pattern of organisation.
- Leave room for last minute changes - nothing ever goes according to plan, and organised people know this and plan for it. Leave some time aside each day to deal with the surprises life throws at you.
